..Good Morning.
..Once again we have clear skies, gusty winds, and a cool morning. Fog has developed in the Valley this morning as well as along the foothills to around the 3500′ level.
..Today an area of Low pressure will be strengthening and sliding South along the West Coast from Washington State. This area of low pressure will bring a significant change in our weather for the weekend.
..We can expect Gusty winds at times up to 35mph or more, with Fog developing tonight up to the 4500-5000′ level by midnight. Temperatures will be much cooler as the Low arrives, then becoming stationary over Southern and Central California for Saturday and Sunday.
..The Clouds and Fog will thicken to the 7500-8000′ level, for Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning, then clearing out above the 5000′ level by Sunday afternoon. There will be a 30-40% chance for measurable rain from this system of .10-.50″ as it looks now. The freezing levels will lower to around the 8000′ level late Saturday night into early Sunday morning, so there will be a chance for some of the higher elevations to see a dusting of snow!
..Our best shot at rain will be as the Vort Max passes late Saturday afternoon and evening. Then the colder air will follow through the Region. This is when the the snow levels will lower to the higher peaks locally, ~8000′.
..After this system passes Monday, there will be a period of Gusty NE winds as the Low moves East, and High pressure from over the Eastern Pacific expands towards the West Coast.
..Tuesday through the weekend we will be under an area of High pressure with temperatures warming back up to a little above normal for this time of year.
..Have a good day, and thank you for joining me here this morning at RC
