Good Morning.
As of 5am we have clear skies with no Fog around the area.
For the next seven to ten days SoCal will be at the bottom of a productive storm track. High and Low pressure systems will move through the flow with wet systems arriving on a ~48hour frequency. Most of the heavy precipitation looks like it will remain to our North through the period however we will see what looks like mostly light precipitation on Friday evening through Saturday morning and again late Sunday into Monday. The freezing levels will be fairly high with snow not expected below the 6200′ level. Next week, continuing from Monday through Thursday, Rain on and off is expected through the period, as more systems will move through SoCal with slightly lower snow levels and possibly a couple of days with heavier rainfall amounts as well. As of this morning, the Atmospheric River (AR) will not play a part in this series of storms. PWAT levels are expected to remain under 1.00″.
A weak Trough will move onshore to our North today bringing rain to the Central Coast by early afternoon. Locally we may see some clouds and fog briefly this afternoon but the chance for any measurable precipitation is minimal. For tomorrow, Thursday, a Ridge of High pressure will move over SoCal clearing out any clouds and Fog around the area. Friday, the Ridge will break down as another Trough moves onshore. Rain and higher elevation snow is likely Friday night into Saturday morning before clearing out by Saturday evening. RC
