Good Morning.
Today’s Forecast for the San Bernardino Mountains.
The tail end of a long wave trough will pass through SoCal today bringing high clouds to the area. As this trough passes through, onshore flow will strengthen and bring the possibility of low clouds and fog to the coastal and inland areas for tomorrow morning. Cooler temperatures by around 5* for the mountain areas as well as the Valley today and Thursday. Highs for the Crestline and Lake Arrowhead areas today will be in the mid to upper 60s with a few locations in the low 70s. Overnight lows will be in the low to mid 40s for most areas. For the Big Bear and Running Springs areas, mid to upper 60s will be the high temperatures today with overnight lows in the low 30s for BB, and low 40s for RS. Down in the Valley today, highs will be in the upper 80s with overnight lows in the low to mid 50s. This pattern of onshore flow will stay in place through Friday. Late Friday night or Saturday morning, High pressure will rebuild in the Great Basin creating a pressure gradient similar to what we had last Monday. Offshore winds will return with gusts from 25-40mph likely across the ridges and in the canyons. Low humidity and much warmer temperatures in the Valley will last through Sunday or Monday morning. A RED FLAG Weather Alert will be likely for that time period. For the Mountain areas, we will have clear skies with the exception of passing high clouds today. Light and variable winds can be expected today and Thursday, mostly from the South West. On the longer range outlook, I still don’t see any chance for rain in the ten day outlook. Have a good day today and enjoy the nice Mountain Weather. Thank You for joining me @
