TODAY’S WEATHER DISCUSSION AND FORECAST:
Good Morning.Happy Fathers Day!
..Our weather pattern is in full June mode. We will continue to have morning Stratus in the Valley each day with clear skies above the ~2500′ level. Sw winds will be gusty in the afternoon hours into the evening with high clouds at times.
..This morning the Marine layer is at the lower elevations. An upper level Trough of Low pressure will be our main weather maker for the next five days in SoCal. Temperatures will be a little cooler than Saturday’s by a few degrees and will remain that way through Wednesday. The Marine layer below may deepen at times, but will clear out by noon each day. In the upper atmosphere from 8,000′ to 30,000′ the moisture levels are fairly low however we will have a couple weak waves of energy pass through the upper level flow so we may see some towering cumulus clouds develop during the peak heating hours in the late afternoon above the 7000′ level(LCL).
..This will be the forecast through Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday, a Pacific Ridge of High pressure now to our North West, will expand East over most of SoCal. This will bring in a warming trend mid week next week. However, by Friday we will return to SoCal Troughing once again with cooling and a deepening Marine layer returning at that time.
..That’s it for now. Have a nice weekend and enjoy the nice mountain weather.
..As we head into Fire Season please use caution in all mountain areas. Also I will begin today posting the Fire Danger levels on the bottom of this page.(Website)
..Have a good day and enjoy the great Mountain weather.*RC

..On the main page of the website, www.lakegregoryweather.com I have added two live webcam views, one of Lake Gregory pointing North, and the other facing Southeast toward Waterman canyon. These are very helpful for the drive up and down the hill. If the camera view is gray, that means it’s foggy.
..Be sure to check out the other pages on the website for the Latest on El Nino, live webcams from around the area, live Radar, Satellite loops, Traffic conditions, along with live Weather conditions, and a live view of Lake Gregory from my weather station at the South side of the lake.
