Good Morning.
..First off, there is a new camera view of Waterman canyon or the bottom portion of Hwy 18 that is day or night visible on the webcam page. Thank you to for that.
..Today we will start the day with light rain showers across the area from an upper level Cold Core Cutoff Low, that is currently to our North. This Low will move South today then Inland directly over the San Bernardino Mountains by around 4pm today. Rain, and possibly a few snow showers will be possible for the higher areas like Big Bear, and Green Valley lake today especially later this afternoon as the center of the Low passes overhead. There will also be a chance for Thunderstorms locally late this afternoon with increasing chances for a heavy rain shower, Hail, and gusty winds, as the center of the Low passes through. The dynamics for a Thunderstorms are looking fairly weak this morning, but as the day progresses this may change, so a little heads up for that. Rain showers will taper off overnight but clearing appears to be slow as another Trough will remain over the area through Wednesday.
..For Tuesday through Thursday, we will slowly clear out from today’s system with more sun for Wednesday and Thursday morning. Then another area of Low pressure will arrive Thursday late afternoon or evening.
..This Low for Thursday will be another system similar to today’s with another chance for showers. As that storm moves through another will be right behind it bringing more cool temperatures and a chance for rain through saturday as it looks this morning.
..So overall, we can expect to have a cooler week with a couple of additional chances for more showers through the weekend.
..On my Crystal Ball this morning, it looks like we may pick up a Tropical moisture feed for the Friday/Saturday system, as it moves through. For Mother’s Day, I have put in an order for good weather. *RC
..Snow levels could lower to around the 6500-7000′ level at times today, so some areas may receive a light dusting, however, due to the warm road surfaces it’s not likely that there will be any accumulation on the roads. Also, as always with T-Storms, Hail, and strong outflow winds associated with those storms will be possible, along with brief heavy rain. So be aware of your surroundings and take shelter if a T-Storm moves into your area. As Summer and Monsoon Season gets closer, these are practices to be aware of. *RC
..That’s it for today. Thank you for joining me @
..Be sure to check out the other pages on the website for live webcams from around the area, live Radar, Satellite loops, Traffic conditions, along with live Weather conditions, and a live view of Lake Gregory from my weather station at the South side of the lake. Have a good Day! *RC
