TODAY’S WEATHER DISCUSSION AND FORECAST:

..Good Morning.
..Yesterday’s storm brought a variety of weather to the local area. Wind, Hail, Rain, Snow and a couple claps of Thunder, all as the Warm Tropical air moved out, and was replaced by cold air from a cold front.
..Today we will have clearing skies as the system that brought rain, and light snow to the higher elevations, moves East. Looking at the sat pic for this morning, all of California is clear with the exception of a few high clouds.
..As the Trough moves East today, a Ridge of High pressure will build in to the West. North East winds are blowing this morning across the Ridges and in the Canyons as High pressure builds in the Great Basin. This mornings pressure gradient is running ~3-4mbs offshore from Tonopah to San Diego. These winds will be short lived and should taper off by early this afternoon. Temperatures will be on the rise along with much drier air as the Ridge takes hold.
..Tuesday, will be another nice day with afternoon clouds arriving from the North. These are from another Trough to our North that will pass through the area Wednesday.
..Temperatures will be a little cooler Wednesday with partly cloudy skies. No rain is expected for SoCal from this weak wave passing through the bottom of the Trough to our North.
..Thursday through Saturday, temperatures will warm up nicely as High pressure builds and strengthens over the Eastern Pacific, and SoCal. Friday will see the warmest temperatures of the next five days.
..Looking into the long range “Crystal Ball” late Saturday or Sunday will be our next chance for a Trough of Low pressure to affect our area. At this time, it looks like a fairly weak possibility for rain or snow but that’s how it looks this morning. RC*
