..Good Morning! Happy Birthday to my daughter in law, Alice!
..Gusty NE winds are blowing strong across the mountains and in the foothills this morning.
Local gust reports are: Waterman Canyon-G-45mph, Playground dr-G-NE-56mph, Lake Gregory-NE-39mph, Lake Arrowhead-G-NE-27mph, Running Springs-G-N-42mph, Rim Forest-G-NE-33mph, GVL-G-N-20mph and Big Bear-G-5mph.
..So as you can see the winds are really kicking up. All of this is from a 1034mb area of High pressure over the Great Basin this morning. The pressure gradient is running around 10mbs offshore currently. Later today the High over the Great Basin will move East. As it does, the pressure gradient will relax between the GB and San Diego, reducing the winds locally by this afternoon or early evening. Thank Goodness!
..Clear skies will be the forecast through Sunday, with warmer temperatures during the daytime. Overnight lows will still be quite cool in the mountains. Onshore flow will return to the Coastal areas, and possible to our area as well by Thursday. Fog will likely develop along the Coastal region for Thursday and Friday as onshore flow strengthens.
..For the weekend, a weak wave will move through to our North Sunday and Monday. This will bring our temperatures down a few degrees with a few clouds possible however, as it looks now, no rain will make it to our area from this system.
..Looking into the Crystal Ball for the longer range 10 day outlook, there will be a couple of short waves pass near SoCal but as it looks now, these will not bring any rain or snow to the local area just more wind.
..Have a good day, and thanks for joining me at lakegregoryweather.com. RC*
